The Graduating Class Gift program is a student-led campaign to raise money for the University of San Diego School of Law. The Graduating Class Gift campaign is a fun and meaningful way for members of the graduating class to celebrate the milestone of earning their law degree, cement their bond as a class and help make the USD School of Law a better place for current and future students by supporting a gift they feel will make a difference.
To pursue these goals, a committee of law students has volunteered to help rally support from their classmates. The class gift is meant to show gratitude for their legal education and to assist USD in remaining a competitive, top-tier law school. Above all, it represents the desire to give back and to support students following in their footsteps.
The Class of 2026 is making a difference at USD School of Law in honor of their graduation. Fellow 3L classmate Jade Kouretchian is the inspiration for the Class of 2026 Graduating Class Gift.
During Jade's third year of law school, while studying abroad in Barcelona, she began to feel unwell. She was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and, tragically and suddenly, passed away. Even in her final chapter, she was doing what she loved — exploring the world, getting out of her comfort zone, expanding her perspective, and creating memories with the people she cherished.
Members of the Class of 2026 have chosen to memorialize their classmate by establishing a scholarship in Jade’s honor that reflects the life she lived: one of intellectual curiosity, adventure, compassion, and wholehearted engagement with the world. It honors the courage to travel, to connect, to grow, and to live vibrantly.
Through this scholarship, Jade’s light continues — inspiring future law students to pursue qualities she embodied: lives rich with passion, depth, courage, and most importantly, joy.
Every gift makes a difference.
The official fundraising period for the class gift campaign will kick off in March and will continue through the end of the semester. All gifts made by June 30, 2026 will count toward the graduating class gift. Gifts after June 30th will continue to bolster this meaningful scholarship.
