Professional Experience
Cole clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and practiced law in Philadelphia. He served as a reporter for the Committee on Forfeiture in Drug Offense Cases at the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws. Professor Cole has been a visiting professor of law at Georgetown University. He joined the USD School of Law faculty in 1987 and served as the ninth dean of the school from 2005 to 2011.
Professor Cole teaches and writes in the areas of evidence as well as criminal law and procedure.

Cole is an elected member of The American Law Institute.
