Laura Becerra graduated from the University of San Diego in 2019 with a BS/BA in electrical engineering. She then spent six months in Ecuador volunteering as an English teacher before returning to San Diego to begin her research at UCSD, where she studied flexible, wearable sensors and haptic technology for medical applications — work that culminated in an MS and PhD in electrical and computer engineering with an emphasis in medical devices and systems. Today, she's an applications engineer at Liquid Instruments, a test-and-measurement startup in Del Mar, where she serves as the technical bridge between the device development team, sales and customers.
