Appealing Financial Aid

For students whose families experienced a change in financial circumstances, which limits their ability to assist the student in paying educational expenses.

For students who are not required to include parental information on the FAFSA experience a change in financial circumstances, which limits their ability to pay their educational expenses.

For students requesting additional university grants, scholarships, or loans.

For dependent students with a sibling(s) in an undergraduate program at USD or another college or university.

For students submitting documentation for expenses not included in their cost of attendance.

For students who did not earn the GPA required for renewal of their merit scholarship and must request an extension of the time needed to achieve the GPA.

For students requesting prorated grants or scholarships while enrolled part-time.

For students who are not making Satisfactory Academic Progress after spring semester grades.

For students whose FAFSA is submitted on or after the first day of the fall semester (or on/after the first day of the spring semester, if enrolled only in spring) and must request consideration as priority applicants for financial aid.

For students explaining why they are unable to qualify for the loan offered for enrollment during summer.

For students explaining why they are unable to qualify for the loan offered for enrollment during the intersession.

For ROTC scholarship recipients and/or VA benefit recipients requesting additional funding for on-campus room/meals.
