University Scholarships

There are a number of scholarship and national fellowship opportunities available at USD across the College and all the schools, in undergraduate and graduate programs, and based on a variety of admissions criteria, such as merit and financial need.

All undergraduate first-year applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarships and no separate application is required. Scholarships are awarded based on a holistic review of each student’s application, including academic achievement such as grades and course rigor, along with leadership, service, talent, and other personal qualities. Merit scholarships are renewable for up to four years (four and a half for Engineering students) as long as students maintain the required 3.0 cumulative USD GPA. These awards may also be combined with other forms of USD and outside financial aid.
