As a reminder, please see your academic advisor for assistance planning your schedule. And make sure to check for any holds that will prevent you from registering — log into the MySanDiego portal and navigate to MyAcademic > Check for Holds.
Advisor Holds
All students in the College of Arts and Sciences (whether declared or undeclared) have an advisor hold. Please contact your advisor prior to registration to have your hold lifted.
Auditing Courses
Auditing a course means attending a class without credit, without the obligation of regular attendance and without the right to have tests and examinations scored or corrected.
Register for auditing a class in the same manner as for credit. Note that if you audit courses, you are not eligible for credit by examination in such courses, nor are you eligible for financial aid, nor may you register for credit after the last official day to register in a class. Switching from credit to audit or audit to credit is not allowed after the last official day to register in a class. Each course audited is entered on your permanent record. Auditing of laboratory courses or education recreation courses is not permitted. If you wish to register for credit, you have priority over those who desire to audit. The fee is $160 per credit hour.
College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Registration
CLEP enables students to earn college credit for introductory-level courses by achieving satisfactory scores on subject-specific tests. You should meet with your advisor first to confirm if you should take a CLEP exam.
