About the Torero Hub

The Torero Hub stands at the forefront of our efforts to promote inclusive excellence and equity within our student community.

Through the Torero Hub,

We aim to create a more cohesive support network for all students

We are committed to not only highlighting the opportunities available at USD but also making them easily accessible to you. Not only is the Torero Hub your primary resource for all non-academic inquiries — from financial aid and billing to class registration — but also a hub for you to receive essential support throughout your university journey.

With the Torero Connect Counselor initiative, every new undergraduate student is matched with a dedicated staff member who's committed to providing personalized support during your first two years at USD. This focused approach helps us proactively identify and address your needs and challenges, ensuring you're guided at every turn. Starting in your third year, you will work directly with the Torero Support Counselor team for all of your financial aid, registration, and billing and payment needs.

Our Mission

The Torero Hub is anchored in USD's Thriving Student Model. Using an integrated approach that engages staff and administrators across the university, the Torero Hub seeks to ensure all students' knowledge of and access to available resources and opportunities, as well as provide timely and reliable sources of information as students navigate their USD experience.

Torero Connect Counselors

Every new undergraduate or transfer student is assigned a Torero Connect Counselor (TCC) through the Torero Hub. TCCs support students with all non-academic questions related to things like financial aid, paying their bill and registering for classes, as well as guide and connect students with resources they need, whenever they need them.

Torero Support Counselors

All students not assigned a Torero Connect Counselor receive guidance from our Torero Support Counselor (TSC) team through the Torero Hub. Specially trained TSCs support students and their families with all things related to financial aid, paying their bills and registering for classes, as well as guide and connect students with campus resources.

Each Torero Connect Counselor has undergone extensive training so that they're properly equipped with the skills to support you here at USD. And they represent a variety of areas throughout the university:
