Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. (ΣΓΡ)
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was founded on November 12, 1922, at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, by seven visionary educators who sought to uplift their communities through sisterhood, scholarship, and service. As one of the four historically Black sororities that make up the Divine Nine, Sigma Gamma Rho continues to build a legacy of excellence. In San Diego, Sigma Gamma Rho has a strong presence with three undergraduate chapters, and its members are actively involved in community-wide events across local campuses. The sorority takes great pride in its dedication to academic achievement, leadership development, and impactful service initiatives, consistently leading programs that benefit students, families, and the broader community.
Currently, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. offers a regionally based membership experience for undergraduate students at the University of San Diego. This opportunity allows interested students to pursue membership through one of the local graduate chapters, providing access to sisterhood, service, and leadership development while completing their undergraduate studies. To learn more or express interest, we encourage you to connect with a local graduate chapter through their official website or social media platforms.
