FSL Standards Board

Fraternity and Sorority Life Standards Board (FSLSB)

The Fraternity and Sorority Life Standards Board (FSLSB) is the peer-led conduct process for USD’s fraternity and sorority community. FSLSB ensures that all chapters uphold the community expectations outlined in the Fraternity and Sorority Life Guidelines through a collaborative, educational, and values-based approach to accountability.

Board Composition

FSLSB is made up of 1–2 representatives from each recognized fraternity and sorority affiliated with one of USD’s three governing councils:

  • College Panhellenic Association (CPA)
  • Interfraternity Council (IFC)
  • Multicultural Greek Council (MGC)

In addition to FSLSB representatives, each governing council elects a Council Conduct Officer who works closely with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life (OFSL). These student leaders assist in the initial review of reports submitted to the office and play a key role in determining the appropriate next steps, whether through education, referral, or the FSLSB process. Their role is essential in maintaining a peer-driven and values-based accountability system within each council.

All representatives must complete FSLSB training each fall semester, hosted in partnership with the Office of Ethical Conduct and Restorative Practices and the Associated Student Government (ASG) Judicial Board.

Oversight and Process

FSLSB operates under the guidance of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life (OFSL). The board conducts chapter interviews and participates in investigations related to potential violations of FSL Guidelines. While peer-led, this process is supported by professional staff from OFSL and the Office of Ethical Conduct and Restorative Practices to ensure fairness and educational outcomes.

Note: FSLSB addresses organizational conduct only. Individual member conduct is managed by the Office of Ethical Conduct and Restorative Practices and the ASG Judicial Board in alignment with the Student Organization Handbook.
