Student Resources

You are more than your major.

While learning begins in the classroom, the University of San Diego's Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering student experience stretches far beyond. In addition to coursework, our students build their resumes and career readiness through opportunities like senior design projects, our engineering entrepreneurship program (eTrack Initiative), industry internships, networking with alumni, University Honors Program and humanitarian engineering projects abroad. The results are witnessed in reimagined farming systems, pioneering medical devices, off-the-grid cookstoves and solar-powered appliances. See how our students are thriving.

Meanwhile, San Diego serves as the ideal climate for students to thrive on adventure, fitness and recreation. Our city is a feast for the senses — while also serving up actual feasts found in the city’s many outstanding taco eateries. SMSE students dive into on-campus activities like chorus, chapel and athletics. And students take full advantage of the trails in Tecolote Canyon as well as the infinite ways to de-stress at the beach. (Maybe just rinse the sand off your feet before coming back into the classroom.)
