Mission Statement
The University of San Diego Hockey Alumni Affinity Group seeks to unite and promote the involvement of the alumni of the Ice and Roller Hockey Clubs after graduation to provide support for both clubs. By providing alumni from both teams with opportunities to continue their involvement through events and connections with the current teams. We offer various services to promote, grow and maintain the continuity of both programs, including:
- Annual Alumni vs. Student Ice Hockey Match
- Participation in Alumni Opportunities
- Advising and Counseling
- Attendance of Matches
- Fundraising
- Photography and Videotaping of Matches
- Raising awareness about Torero Hockey
About Club Hockey
Torero hockey has a rich and proud history. It all began with the formation of the roller hockey club in 2006. That year, the team joined the Western Collegiate Roller Hockey League in Division II, and their dedication and hard work paid off as they qualified for the regional playoffs and later participated in the national championships. This was just the beginning of a journey filled with achievements and camaraderie. Torero Roller Hockey continued to participate in WCRHL seasons and tournaments around California, leaving a legacy of excellence and sportsmanship. In 2017, Torero Ice Hockey joined the American Collegiate Hockey Association and played its inaugural season of Division II collegiate club hockey in the ACHA’s West Division.
