Congratulatory Calling
Join our admissions team in welcoming newly accepted students to USD! As a volunteer, you’ll reach out to students from your area to congratulate them on their acceptance and answer any questions they might have. The alumni network plays a significant role in shaping admissions decisions — this is your chance to showcase the pride and connection that come with being part of the USD community.

OLÉ Weekend
Be part of the excitement of Move-In Weekend by welcoming new students and their families to USD! As a volunteer, you’ll help create a warm and inviting atmosphere, assist families during the move-in process and share in the enthusiasm of this important milestone. Your support ensures a smooth and memorable start to their USD journey.

Wine Classic
Support USD’s premier scholarship fundraising event, the Wine Classic, where elegance meets impact. This celebrated wine-tasting event has raised over $1,000,000 for the Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund, benefiting deserving students. Each year, more than 700 wine enthusiasts come together to enjoy selections from approximately 25 wineries operated by USD alumni, parents and friends, alongside gourmet food and live entertainment. As a volunteer, you’ll contribute to the event’s success by assisting with registration, hospitality, winery support, the silent auction, merchandise sales and more.

Homecoming & Family Weekend
Celebrate Torero pride during an unforgettable weekend filled with fun, connection and tradition! Join the USD community to relive cherished memories, reconnect with friends and make new ones. Signature events include Evening Under the Stars, Torero Tailgate and the Alumni and Family Sunday Mass. As a volunteer, you’ll play an essential role in creating a memorable experience by assisting with registration, hospitality, giveaways, merchandise sales and more.

Class Reunions
Help make your class reunion unforgettable by reconnecting with classmates and encouraging them to return to campus for Homecoming & Family Weekend. With provided contact information and the option to use social media, you can easily reach out and inspire your peers to join in the celebration. Your feedback and ideas for the reunion party are also welcome to ensure it’s a memorable experience for everyone!

Make a meaningful impact by helping deserving USD students achieve their educational goals. With over 70% of USD students receiving financial assistance, the USD Alumni Association is proud to support their success through various scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students.
As a volunteer, you’ll review and rank approximately 10 student scholarship applications. The process is fully remote, allowing you to participate from anywhere at your convenience. Volunteers are provided two weeks to complete their reviews and submit scores online. Scholarship recipients are selected during the summer.

Torero Tuesday Ambassador
Be part of the excitement of Torero Tuesday, USD’s annual day of giving, where Toreros unite to support current students by contributing to USD or the programs that matter most to them. As a Torero Tuesday Ambassador, you’ll help spread the word and inspire others to make a difference.
Ambassador Responsibilities:
- Share the spirit of giving by sending e-mail and/or posting on social media to promote Torero Tuesday at least one week in advance.
- Actively promote Torero Tuesday on your social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) 2-3 times throughout the day.

Torero Employer and Alumni Mentors (T.E.A.M.)
T.E.A.M. is USD’s online networking and mentorship platform, connecting students and alumni for career conversations, guidance and professional growth. As a volunteer mentor, you’ll have the opportunity to share your expertise, offer advice, and provide valuable perspectives to those seeking to advance their careers.
This platform also serves as a professional development hub, featuring special interest groups and a job board where alumni employers can recruit talented USD graduates for their organizations.

Class Guest Speakers
Step back into the classroom with your favorite faculty member and share your expertise with current USD students. By providing practical insights and valuable tips related to the subject matter, you’ll help students connect classroom learning with real-world applications.
