Kara Marsh Proffitt began her career in the Alumni Relations office at the University of San Diego in 2004. She now serves the office and the university as the Director of Alumni Operations and Engagement overseeing the following areas for the Alumni Association:
- Domestic regional alumni programming including the operation's 22 Torero Clubs
- Student and alumni engagement opportunities
- Alumni Association scholarship programs
- Office of Alumni Relations budget and data management
- Major Alumni Association events and programming including Homecoming, reunions, Torero Takeover, Alumni Honors, etc.
- Affinity programs including special interest groups, USD's professional schools and athletics
- Oversight of the Outreach Committee for the Alumni Association Board of Directors
