While in a Transfer Learning Community (TLC), students take a course led by an esteemed member of the faculty and learn the importance of connection, both in the classroom and beyond. Being in a TLC eases students' academic and social transition to USD, expands intellectual curiosity beyond the classroom, and establishes an immediate sense of community with faculty and fellow transfer students.

As part of the TLC experience, students are challenged to integrate concepts and ideas across multiple fields of study. The TLC Integration Showcase allows students the opportunity to demonstrate their interdisciplinary learning, reinforcing the inter-connectivity of knowledge and thereby promoting the value of the liberal arts.
