The scholarships listed on this page are available to incoming first-year students.

Merit Awards
- Award amount: $18,000-$25,000
- Awards are renewable for four years as long as a student maintains minimum grade point average requirements.
- Awards are determined by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, based upon superior academic performance with regard to grades, course selection and test scores.
- First-year applicants will automatically be considered for a merit scholarship upon applying for admission to USD. (International applicants must submit official ACT or SAT scores in order to be considered.)
- Only first-year applicants are eligible for merit scholarship consideration.
- Financial need is not considered in the awarding of merit scholarships.

Athletic Scholarships
- Award amount: varies by year and by sport
- All of our NCAA Division I sports offer scholarship opportunities, except football and men's crew.

Changemaker Scholarship
- Award amount: up to $5,000
- This scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate the spirit of a Changemaker through their capacity to take action and create positive social change in the world around them.
- Applications become available every September and are due on October 31.
- Financial need is taken into account when awarding Changemaker scholarships. In order to qualify, you must also submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Choral Scholars Award
- Award amount: $1,200-$10,000

- Applications are due February 1.

Music Scholarships
- Award amount: $500-$15,000

Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Scholarships
- Award amount: full tuition
