Transfer Housing Information
All contracts are for the full academic year, which consists of both fall and spring semesters, or if entered into after the beginning of the academic year, for the remainder of that academic year.

If you will start at USD in the fall, you will be required to live on campus for two semesters unless you satisfy at least one of the following:
- 20 years of age or older by August 30, 2026
- at least 60 units of coursework completed prior to USD
- at least four full-time semesters of consecutive coursework completed prior to USD
Residential Areas
Alcalá Vista Apartments
(For second-year transfers) The Alcalaá Vista Apartments is part of the Second Year Torero Experiential Program (STEP) and offers housing to second-year students. The Vistas complex includes Borrego, Cuyamaca, Laguna, and Palomar halls. The majority of these units have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. All buildings are three-stories and are clustered around courtyards and feature the Spanish Renaissance architecture. The Alcalaá Vistas newly renovated Gathering Space, Multipurpose Room, Quiet Study, conference room, and reception desk are located on the first floor of Palomar hall for all students to enjoy.
Valley Apartments: San Buenaventura
(For second-year transfers) San Buenaventura, or San Buen is part of the Second-Year Torero Experiential Program and houses first-year and second-year students. San Buen houses 72 apartments comprised of four single bedrooms or two double bedrooms. All apartment units include fully furnished living and dining areas and kitchens. San Buen also offers comfortable study spaces, a classroom with SmartBoard technology, a reflection room complete with a baby grand piano, and a nearby, newly renovated outdoor living room complete with a gas lit fire pit.
Valley Apartments: San Antonio de Padua
(For Transfers) San Buenaventura and the San Antonio de Padua (SAP) apartments together represent the Valley Apartments. SAP offers 41 units consisting of mostly large one-bedroom apartments for up to four residents. A laundry room and a study/piano lounge are located on the ground level of this three-story building. Each unit is entered from an interior hallway and some have balcony views of Tecolote Canyon and Mission Bay. There is an outdoor living space that features a large seating area, fire pit, lounge chairs, and patio furniture perfect for spending time with friends or pursuing outdoor study groups.
Manchester Village
Manchester Village is a two building complex housing second-year, junior, and senior students. Manchester Village features apartment units comprised of four single bedrooms or two double bedrooms within a continuous occupancy area (including Christmas Break, Intersession, and Spring Break). All apartment units include fully furnished living and dining areas and a kitchen. Manchester Village includes community rooms, conference rooms, study rooms, a fitness room, two levels of abundant underground parking, and convenient USD Tram Service to main campus.
Pacific Ridge
Pacific Ridge is a luxury apartment complex directly across from USD's main entrance. USD has secured a number of 2 bed/2 bath and 3 bed/2 bath apartments under a master lease. These apartments will be exclusive to upperclassmen students (juniors and seniors). Rooms vary from singles (extremely limited), to doubles (2 residents) and triples (3 residents). Furniture, WiFi, and utilities will be included. Each resident will receive one Twin XL bed, desk, and dresser. The apartments are also equipped with air conditioning, a living room, a kitchen, and in-unit laundry.
