Dr. Laurie Ecoff is Clinical Associate Professor in the Clinical Nursing, Executive Nurse Leader, and Doctor of Nursing Practice Programs. Dr. Ecoff received her Bachelor of Science and PhD in Nursing from the University of San Diego and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from San Diego State University.
Dr. Ecoff is currently Vice President of the Caster Nursing Institute at Sharp HealthCare in San Diego, CA. In her role she oversees four centers of excellence which serve to advance nursing practice, research, education, and community engagement. Dr. Ecoff served most recently as the Director of Research, Education, and Professional Practice at Sharp Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Ecoff is the immediate past president of the Association of California Nurse Leaders, serves as a lead appraiser for the American Nurses Credentialing Center Practice Transition Accreditation Program, and is certified in advanced executive nurse leadership.
For her dissertation, Dr. Ecoff focused on evaluation of an educational initiative to promote evidence-based practice. Dr. Ecoff is a founding member of the San Diego Consortium for Excellence in Nursing and Allied Health, a community-based collaborative between service and academia, which offers an annual Evidence-Based Practice Institute.
