USD and Graduate Student Life acknowledge the unique needs of our graduate student population. This page includes a list of campus resources and services that are available to graduate students. The Graduate and Law Student Commons is a space for graduate and law students to gather on campus at USD. In support of the Mission and Goals of the University of San Diego, the Graduate and Law Student Commons fosters community among all graduate and law students.
The Commons is the place to relax, hangout or study before and after class. We offer several free amenities to all graduate and law students. Not to mention the Student Life Pavilion is packed with great services.

Graduate Student Life is happy to offer a variety of programs for the USD graduate and law student community. Our programs include affinity group and allies discussions, career workshops, wellness workshops, yoga, bagel breakfasts, and more.

Graduate Student Life advises and supports the Graduate Student Government (GSG) and graduate student associations and organizations underneath the GSG umbrella.
The GSG serves the needs of the graduate and law students, building a strong and successful graduate community. The purpose of the Graduate Student Government (GSG) is to represent all USD graduate and law students to the university administration with the mission to:
- build and maintain a strong USD graduate student community;
- advocate for graduate student issues;
- ensure adequate graduate student representation on university committees;
- work collaboratively with, and advise, university administration to improve the level of graduate studies.
