Black Student Resource Commons
Black Student Resource Commons (BSRC) aims to foster excellence, engagement and diversity within the Black community at the University of San Diego. Created as a result of the advocacy and support of students, administrators and faculty, the BSRC is a space that seeks to support all aspects of Black students' collegiate experiences. We are a space that advocates and shines light on the Black student experience through purposeful programs and services that honor our diversity. We create programs, events, and services that are specifically focused on the needs of the Black community. Some of our services are: leadership development/opportunities, extra-curricular programming, campus engagement opportunities, and the space to explore and learn about Black culture.
First-Generation College Students
The University of San Diego defines First-Generation students in the following way: At the time you completed high school or high school equivalency, your custodial parent(s) or legal guardian(s) had not earned a bachelor's degree or higher. This means you are the first to attend a 4-year college/university and obtain a bachelor's degree. Please know, we welcome anyone who self-identifies as a first-generation college student.
International Center
The University of San Diego's International Center serves as a gateway to all internationally-related activities both on and off-campus. The Center is comprised of two main offices: The Office of International Students and Scholars and the Office of International Studies Abroad. Each office works collaboratively across campus to provide support for study abroad programs as well as provide oversight for the immigration and documentation process for international students and scholars.
LGBTQ+
As an engaged, contemporary Catholic university, USD is dedicated to creating a world where respect, compassion, and dignity is due to all. The LGBTQ+ & Allies Commons exists to support this mission, providing a physical space, community groups, and educational programs around LGBTQIA+ culture and concerns. Military and Veterans Program
The USD Military & Veterans Program provides student-focused services to all USD military-connected students, from their initial consideration of higher education (Access), through services when they are enrolled as students (Support) and in their transition to alumni status (Connect). USD MVP services enhance military and veteran students’ abilities to achieve their higher education and career goals, effectively, from a quality institution, while using their benefits as efficiently as possible.
United Front Multicultural Commons
The United Front Multicultural Commons (UFMC) extends a warm welcome to all students, faculty, staff and community members. We invite all to experience diverse cultures and traditions, explore identities, engage in dialogue, challenge barriers, build leadership skills and empower each other to create an intellectually vibrant, socially just and inclusive community. Women’s Commons
In support of the Division of Student Affairs' Mission, the Women's Commons invites women to find voice, develop skills for transformation and understand who they are called to be. The USD Women's Center empowers women to engage as leaders in a diverse and changing world. We are a student-centered learning community that provides resources and engages women and men in educational dialogue around gender-related issues. We advocate for a safe, supportive campus environment that creates equity among all voices.
