The purpose of this organization shall be as follows:
The Graduate Business Student Association (GBSA) at the University of San Diego is an organization led by graduate students for students. We provide professional development funding, organize a variety of social and community events, and conduct workshops. More simply, it’s our imperative to provide diverse, inclusive, and equitable environments that foster professional, scholastic, and social growth for Knauss School of Business students, faculty, and alumni.

The Graduate Nursing Student Association (GNSA) enhances the student experience by fostering community, professional development, and hands-on engagement outside the classroom. We host monthly meetings with guest speakers from diverse nursing specialties, giving students valuable insight into different career paths. GNSA also organizes volunteer events that connect nursing students with the San Diego community through service and outreach. Additionally, we provide certificate opportunities and skill-building workshops that strengthen clinical knowledge and resumes. Together, these events create a well-rounded environment that supports growth, collaboration, and preparation for future nursing roles.

The mission of the SGSA is to support the development of a professional, scholastic, and social community in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences (SOLES). Increasing awareness of, and participation in, professional associations, conferences, certifications, and workshops; Providing a vehicle for student input into programs and policies; Partnering with administration to improve connections with alumni; Providing grants (dedicating at least 20% of the cumulative budget) in awards to support students’ professional development and research opportunities.

SBA members act as the official student representatives and advocate for student interests on many different issues. The SBA is responsible for appointing student representatives to the various law school and university committees. The main goal of the SBA is to represent and serve the student body. To that end, it must determine what university events and issues affect law students, ensure that law students are represented on those issues, and advocate their interests.

The PURPOSE of BGSA is to serve as a support network for graduate and professional students of African descent and the diaspora by providing resources and opportunities that enhance academic and career success. BGSA serves as a safe space for emotional and social support for the black students in higher education on the campus of USD. The organization will be working towards creating a community for black graduate students by creating series of social and academic events that will impact the lives of the students positively.

We are a collective of self-identified Chicana, Latina, and Indígena mujeres and gender non-conforming scholars, students, and activists at USD committed to decolonizing academic spaces by centering ancestral knowledge and advancing social justice. We uplift the intellectual, emotional, and activist labor of our communities through mentorship, pathways for young Latinxs, and radical care. Rooted in shared leadership, we foster hermandad where students and faculty grow in comunidad—honoring embodied knowledge and sustaining transformation. We advocate for equity, recognition, disability justice, and systemic change within and beyond academia, grounded in cultural integrity, intergenerational support, and collective empowerment.
