Undergraduate Research and Travel Grants

Undergraduate Research

The College of Arts and Sciences recognizes the importance of undergraduate research in the educational experience and actively supports student participation in both academic year and summer programs.

On-campus opportunities

The college provides many opportunities for undergraduate students to work one-on-one with faculty members in undergraduate research (including creative activities) and formally present their work to the campus community. Some students may receive research stipends, support for research materials, on-campus housing support and travel conference support. Learn more.

Off-campus opportunities

Off-campus research and scholarly opportunities for students abound, but finding the right one that aligns with interests and goals takes time and commitment. To help with the search and offer recommendations, USD's Office of Undergraduate Research partnered with Student Opportunity Center (SOC) — the largest national database of student research, honors conferences, funding, scholarships and other experiential opportunities.
