  • Dr. Zwolinski is also a licensed clinical psychologist in California.

Jennifer Zwolinski is a Professor in the Psychological Sciences Department and she has been a member of the faculty since 2001. She has also served in multiple leadership roles on campus including Associate Provost of Faculty Research and Development, Psychological Sciences Department Chair, and Living Learning Communities (LLC) Faculty Director for the Change LLC. Dr. Zwolinski is also one of two College of Arts and Sciences Faculty Representatives who reviews research study proposals for USD's Institutional Review Board. In the Psychological Sciences Department, Professor Zwolinski currently offers undergraduate courses in a variety of areas including Introduction to Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Theories of Personality, and Advanced Research Methods Capstone in Clinical Psychology. She has received teaching and mentorship awards including the Davies Award for Teaching Excellence, the Preceptorial Faculty Member of the Year, and Honorary Mortar Board membership. In addition, she has been formally recognized multiple times by students as a Mortar Board Distinguished Faculty Member and Pre-health Faculty Mentor. She is an academic advisor for both Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience majors and Psychology minors. Her current research is examining telehealth; one study is examining how the COVID-19 pandemic impacts perception of telemental health and another study is investigating how individuals select therapists or mental health professional. Professor Zwolinski’s research lab is currently full so she is not taking any new research students at this time you can always check back about availability. Dr. Jen Zwolinski is also a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California.

Professor Jen Zwolinski has taught a variety of courses at USD, including lower level introduction to psychology courses as well as upper division clinical psychology courses that serve both Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience majors. In addition to teaching departmental classes, Professor Zwolinski has also taught in the Living Learning Community (LLC)/Preceptorial program, the Honors program and in the master's program in Peace and Justice Studies. Her current research interests are in telemental health and in how potential therapy client choose a mental health professional. She has an ongoing academic interest in the topic of Careers in Psychology in order to best serve our majors. For more information about Dr. Zwolinski, please see above.
