Concerto Winners of the 2016 Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC), accompanied by the Greater San Diego Chamber Orchestra, conducted by music faculty Dr. Angela Yeung.

Featuring:
Ethan Chuang, winner of Div I Piano (11 years or younger category) in Mozart’s Piano Concerto in G major, K. 453. Ethan is 11 years old.

Jason Shang, winner of Div II Piano (ages 12-14 category) in Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto in G Minor, Op. 25. Jason is 13 years old.

Irene Kim, winner of Div V Strings (13 years or younger category) in Lalo’s Symphonie Espanole, Op. 21. Irene is 12 years old.

Also on the program are the Overture to Ruy Blas by Mendelssohn and the Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo, arguably the best known guitar concerto, featuring guest soloist from Japan, Yoshi Oshima (大嶋芳).

$10 general admission; $8 seniors, USD faculty, staff and alumni; and $5 for students with valid I.D.
