San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative

Resources

The San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative drives regionally responsive research to support our members with the goal of accelerating holistic, innovative climate action. Through projects and partnerships, we have developed a collection of resources to aid our region’s climate practitioners, including: educational materials, comprehensive and interactive Storymaps, insightful blogs, and detailed reports that explore our region’s climate landscape with an emphasis on coastal resilience, energy, climate adaptation, and water. These educational resources provide a deeper understanding of our region’s climate needs, highlight key actors, identify challenges and opportunities, and provide best practice recommendations for driving equitable climate action in our region forward.

Technical Assistance

As our region’s leaders work to address the impact from multiple climate shocks and stresses, there is growing recognition of the need to strengthen our collaboration and access to tools and resources across jurisdictions and sectors. Strengthening our region’s capacity, technical knowledge, and access to funding opportunities continues to be a growing need in order to advance holistic climate action. The San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative has developed a suite of tools, databases and resources to better provide direct technical assistance for our members.

Coastal Resilience

The San Diego region is home to a stunning 70-mile coastline that encompasses a broad array of coastal dune, beach, wetland and lagoon habitats. By prioritizing projects and efforts to address sea level rise and coastal flooding impacts that elevate coordinated and collaborative solutions and implement projects that directly address inequities and promote shared prosperity in a way that works with nature, not against it, we can support continued resilience and accessibility to our coastal systems.

Energy & Climate Action Planning

Cross-sectoral collaboration is the key to supporting an energy resilient region. Our programs center on the development of resources and other educational materials that highlight current and future energy codes, energy efficiency in climate action planning, and best practices and projects to support the region as we move to electrify our infrastructure.

Climate Adaptation

A resilient region is defined by its ability to adapt and adjust to the adverse effects of a changing climate. Through intentional collaboration, resource and information sharing, we can holistically advance climate adaptation planning in a just and equitable manner.

Water

Climate change directly impacts our region’s access and management of a clean and resilient water supply. We are dedicated to finding ways to diversify and conserve our natural water resources through regional collaboration and climate-smart water practices and projects.

Climate Collaborative Annual Reports

Our annual report reflects on our growth as well as highlights the accomplishments we have achieved throughout each year as we further our vision of sustaining a resilient and prosperous region. We strive to continue to advance equitable climate action to address and combat climate change as a means to build a sustainable future.
