Maher Hall
Maher Hall is a first-year residence hall located on the top three floors of the five-story building that was originally St. Francis Seminary. Maher is a co-ed building, home to over 220 first-year residents. A Community Director, eight Resident Assistants, and a Resident Minister reside in this area. Maher accommodates quads, triples and (limited) double rooms. Each room contains twin XL beds, a desk and dresser, and a bathroom with shower, toilet, and sink.
Maher Hall is centrally located on campus near classrooms, the health center, the library, bookstore, the mail center, Aromas, and the Hahn University Center. A TV lounge and a study lounge are both located on the fifth floor.
The first two floors contain classrooms and administrative offices. Most rooms have carpeting in the main living area. The residence rooms and bathrooms must be cleaned by the residents. Each resident is provided with an extra-long (80") twin bed, chest of drawers, desk, and desk chair. In addition, each room has wireless Internet. Most residence rooms are entered from the outside balconies and some rooms have splendid views of Mission Bay, Tecolote Canyon, or the fountain in front of Maher. Vending machines and laundry areas are also provided.

The Resident Assistant Office is centrally located on the 3rd floor of Maher, room 306W. Toilet paper, trash bags and vacuums are distributed to residents as needed. RAs are present during the evenings for Maher residents.
During the day, Maher residents can visit the Mata'yuum Crossroads desk. Please see our Residential Resources page for the hours of operation and additional information.
The Common Area and study lounge are located on the 5th floor. You will find a TV, pool table, and couches in the Common Area, and approximately a dozen individual desks and chairs in the study lounge.
Housekeeping conducts regular cleanings of these spaces, and we still ask that residents clean up after themselves with every use. If you would like to use the DVD player and pool table equipment, contact your resident assistant, or the Community Director.
If any furniture is found broken or damaged, please submit a Maintenance Work Request.
The Laundry Facilities include washing machines and dryers located on each floor of Maher Hall.
Please see our Residential Resources page for more information on laundry services.
On the first floor of Maher Hall, on the west end, is USD's award-winning coffeehouse. Always abuzz with activity, Aromas is the perfect setting to enjoy a beverage with friends without having to leave campus. They have couches, tables, and computer stations for students to use. Please visit their website for more information.
