The accountancy majors helps students prepare for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam and is designed so that students can apply their accounting knowledge and principles across various fields. Choose Your Accounting Major

Our commitment to personalized learning starts with our specialized majors. Each track will prepare you for a career as an accountant. Whether you want to work on your own, for a company, at an NGO or within the government sector, the choice is yours.

Note: These options fulfill some of the requirements for the CPA exam in California.

The accountancy minor

Accounting knowledge can take you past spreadsheets and into the world of law, finance and account auditing. With an accounting minor at the Knauss School of Business, you will learn the foundation of accounting and acquire skills that will set you up to become an essential team member in any field you go into.

Double the Degree, Double the Value

Receive your bachelor’s AND master’s degree in accountancy in as little as four and a half years. With the combined Bachelor of Science in Accountancy/Master of Science in Accountancy (or Taxation), you’ll take undergraduate courses during the day and master’s classes in the evening. By completing this program, you will meet the 150-hour requirement to take the CPA exam. You'll also get the opportunity to take an accounting class abroad!

Playing an integral role in fulfilling a company’s ethical responsibilities, auditing clerks analyze sensitive accounting data and documentation to verify financial figures.

Strategic Planner

As a strategic planner, you’ll look at the company’s financial profile and help them determine what financial decisions to make next.

Payroll Administrator

Payroll administrators prepare and distribute paychecks, update and record payroll processes and help ensure that companies are compliant with current business and tax laws.

Budget Analyst

As a budget analyst, you’ll deal primarily with a business or corporation's spendings and savings. You’ll help your client distribute funds while monitoring investments and expenses.
