Global Market Navigator Program

Discover untapped export opportunities

Is your business ready to level up its exports? The Global Market Navigator Program gives San Diego-based businesses with at least one year of export experience the tools needed to diversify into new international markets. By joining this no-cost program, your business will discover new international opportunities and learn how to enter these high-potential markets.

The Global Market Navigator Progam is offered by the Ahlers Center for International Business, complementing our Global Readiness Program and World Trade Center San Diego’s flagship Metroconnect program.

Program Timeline

September: Meet with your consulting team

Present your company and product/s to a University of San Diego consulting team comprised of upper-division undergraduate international business students. You can schedule an in person or virtual meeting at a time that is convenient for you.

September – December: Market analysis

Your student consulting team will work under the direct supervision and expert council of clinical professor of international business, Dr. Eileen Daspro. They will perform a thorough market analysis leveraging all available resources at the Knauss School of Business. You may anticipate a few emails during this time to provide clarification to your team.

December: Market entry plan presentation

Your student teams will deliver a comprehensive market entry plan including a formal presentation and written report.

Criteria for eligible businesses

Each year, four to five companies will be selected to participate in the Global Market Navigator program. Businesses that meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:

  • Are small to medium-sized
  • Located in the greater San Diego area
  • Sell physical products (not services)
  • Products must be at least 51% based in the U.S.
  • Have a minimum of one year of export experience
