The Traveling Toreros are proud to partner with National Geographic - Lindblad Expeditions, offering USD alumni a once-in-a-lifetime voyage to Antarctica led by the world’s top naturalists and explorers.
Discover the Antarctic Peninsula, where endless white mountains roll to the horizon and massive glaciers churn icebergs into the sea. Travel with a diverse team of experts aboard The National Geographic Resolution, one of our three state-of-the-art expedition ships. Venture into channels and coves framed by towering peaks. Watch for whales off the bow; glide around enormous icebergs in Zodiacs; and hike, kayak, and even possibly cross-country ski in complete tranquility. Travelers can choose an active agenda or surrender to the pleasures of relaxing downtime and shipboard camaraderie.
- Day 1: Arrive in Santiago and explore the city at your leisure.
- Day 2: Fly to Ushuaia, the southern-most city in the world and embark The Resolution.
- Day 3 - 4: Journey across the Drake Passage. Lying between Cape Horn and the Antarctic Peninsula, the Drake holds a unique place in maritime lore.
- Day 5 - 9: With long hours of daylight at this time of year, you have ample opportunity to explore the Antarctic Peninsula and the surrounding islands.
- Day 10 - 11: Enjoy the ship’s amenities as the Antarctic coast disappears from view. Celebrate your voyage with a farewell dinner on board.
- Day 12: Disembark in Ushuaia, and fly to Santiago.
