University of San Diego is one of 400 colleges competing this year from February 4th - March 31st to be a national leader in recycling!

RecycleMania is an annual competition and benchmarking tool for college and university recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities to their campus communities. Over the 8-week period, colleges across the United States and Canada report the amount of recycling and trash collected each week and are ranked in various categories based on who recycles the most on a per capita basis, as well as which schools have the best recycling rate as a percentage of total waste, and which schools generate the least amount of combined trash and recycling. There are also some speciality categories, including an electronics competition, which USD is participating in for the month of March.  So bring your e-waste (working or not) to our Electronics Recycling Center on Linda Vista Road.

The goals of RecycleMania include motivating campus community members to increase recycling efforts and reduce waste generation, generating attention and support for campus recycling programs, and encouraging colleges to measure and benchmark recycling activities in an effort to improve their programs over time.

Help USD be a recycling leader by choosing the correct bin for your recyclable materials!
