Victoria Fu Named Guggenheim Fellow

Victoria Fu, Assistant Professor of Visual Arts at the University of San Diego, was selected as a 2015 John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellow in recognition for her work in the category of Film-Video.

Fu is a visual artist who incorporates moving images, photography, and drawing into her work. Her installations have been exhibited in numerous art venues including the 2014 Whitney Biennial at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY; Simon Preston Gallery, New York, NY; University Art Gallery, UC Irvine, Irvine, CA; 52nd New York Film Festival, New York, NY; Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, La Jolla, CA; among others.

Fu is also a two-time grant recipient from the Art Matters Foundation and is an Irvine Fellow at the Montalvo Arts Center. Fu, a full-time faculty member at USD since 2012, is currently teaching Film History and Video Art courses in the Department of Art, Architecture + Art History.
