Alberto Pulido Wins 2014 Innovation in Community Engagement Award

Professor of Ethnic Studies, Alberto Pulido, has won the 2014 Innovation in Community Engagement Award for his work on the Chicano Park Mural Documentation Project. Dr. Pulido’s work documents each of the park’s murals by producing a comprehensive map with corresponding pages describing when the mural was created and a list of contributing artists. The project was innovative for its content but also in how students, faculty, and community were interwoven as stakeholders in the project. For a preview of the project please see www.blurb.com/b/3934288-chicano-park-murals-documentation-project-2013.

The award includes a $500 honorarium and an opportunity to present his work at a university-wide event (Fall 2014).
