IPJ Mourns Loss of Woman PeaceMaker from Zimbabwe

Nora Chengeto Tapiwa

The IPJ joins its Women PeaceMakers family in mourning the loss of Nora Chengeto Tapiwa of Zimbabwe. Nora passed away in her sleep on March 18 in South Africa, where she was living as a refugee. In the words of her fellow peacemaker Zandile Nhlengetwa, “She was an inspiration to other colleagues in her organization because of her selfless attitude and deep passion for the liberation of her people in Zimbabwe. I will always miss her ready smile.” Nora’s life and work in economic empowerment for the Zimbabwean diaspora was recorded in the narrative “Caring for the Diaspora.”
