Supply Chain Management Can Make, Break Business

U-T San Diego -- What is supply chain management (SCM)? In essence it is the management of materials and information, involving everything from the ordering of raw materials all the way to getting the end product to the client.

SCM is “basically from the farm to the dinner table,” said Joel Sutherland, managing director of the Supply Chain Management Institute at the University of San Diego. “It’s every industry; every company has a supply chain.
