Kroc School Co-sponsors United Nations Security Council Retreat

On November 15-16, 2012, the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies co-sponsored the annual retreat of the United Nations Security Council. Other co-sponsors included the Security Council Affairs Division of the UN Secretariat and the Security Council Report. The purpose of the retreat is to provide opportunities for new members of the Security Council to learn about the council's working methods and subsidiary bodies so they can hit the ground running on January 1, 2013. This year marked the 10th anniversary of the retreat, which has been hosted by Finland since its inception.

Nobel Peace Laureate Dr. Henry Kissinger was the keynote speaker at the event. Dr. Kissinger was interviewed by Kroc School Dean Edward Luck as part of the keynote presentation.
