'Repairing the World' Through Nonprofits
U-T San Diego -- Pat Libby was in college when she began working as an intern at a community food and nutrition program in Boston. When her boss couldn’t continue to run the organization, she stepped in. She helped set up community gardens and launched the first farmers’ market in the city.
Since then, she has focused her life’s work on nonprofits, most recently as director of the Institute for Nonprofit Education and Research at the University of San Diego. During the past decade, 175 students — most of them already working in the field — have earned graduate degrees through the program. (Full Story)
