USD Beats SDSU in Soccer on Late Goal

Another thrilling finish.

The USD-SDSU men’s soccer rivalry did not disappoint again, and this time it was the Toreros’ turn to play heart breaker. Stephen Posa’s low shot through traffic in the 89th minute gave USD a 2-1 victory before 2,967 at Torero Stadium.

It ended a five-game streak of the road team winning, and it might have rescued a Toreros season that was heading south quickly after opening with two disappointing losses (including one on Friday in which they surrendered three goals in five minutes). It also exacted a bit of revenge for last year, when the Aztecs prevailed 3-2 on a controversial late penalty kick. (Full Story
