Fannie Mae CEO Discusses Future of Lending
San Diego Union Tribune -- Fannie Mae President and CEO Michael J. Williams on Thursday said it's incumbent on policymakers to ask key questions about everything from the future of the secondary mortgage market to the fate of the 30-year fixed rate loan, as they figure how to phase-out the mortgage giant.
However, he was not clear on the possible implications of the government's move to wind down Fannie Mae, a leading buyer of affordable home loans, in his speech at University of San Diego's Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate annual conference. (Full Story)
