Program Site
The Guadalajara Summer Program is held at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO) located West of downtown at the southern end of the city. The ITESO is one of the leading universities in all of Latin America. The Jesuit university prides itself on being among the most technologically advanced institutions in Mexico. In addition to its natural and spiritual ambient, ITESO is fully equipped with a five story computer laboratory, three large amphitheaters, a satellite bank with an automated teller machine, a student center, two cafeterias, and a central library possessing a rich collection of erudite scholarship. The beautiful campus is an intellectually stimulating and spiritual learning environment. Its endless gardens and towering trees make it an inspiring and peaceful place to learn.

Units/Credit
During the summer program, a student may take up to 7 units, which are comprised of two 3-unit classes and one 1-unit recreational class.

Pass/Fail
Students may take courses for Pass/Fail credit, however, non-USD students should be aware of their home program's guidelines and regulations. In the Pass/Fail credit option, a grade below a “C-” is a failing grade. A “Pass” is not calculated into a grade point average; a “Fail” is. Eligible USD students are allowed to take only one course Pass/Fail during the entire summer period (consult undergraduate and graduate bulletins for guidelines).

Auditing
Students may also audit classes. Auditing a course implies that work will not be formally evaluated and will not be granted university credit for the courses they complete in Guadalajara. Therefore, audited courses are not applicable toward degrees.

Transcripts
Upon request, the University of San Diego will issue an official transcript for completed courses. Transcript request forms will be available for non-USD students in Guadalajara. Grades and transcripts will be mailed to students in early October.
