As a member of the SOLES community of students, faculty and administrative staff, we invite you to participate in the SOLES Takes Anti-Racism Seriously (S.T.A.R.S.) Advocate Program and Training. As noted at the recent Town Hall Meeting, this program is modeled after other advocacy programs on campus, but with the specific intent of supporting those who are victims of racist language and behavior.
Level I Training: S.T.A.R.S.
Students, faculty and staff at SOLES have been victimized by racist behaviors, practices and policies yet have no formal system of support to address it. In an effort to provide that support, S.T.A.R.S. participants will develop an understanding of what it means to be an anti racist, and be provided with the opportunity to take active steps toward building a better learning community for all. This session will offer discussion and description of examples of behaviors and practices that can be supported by S.T.A.R.S. Advocates.
