On Monday, April 30, 2018, 12:30 p.m. in the Humanities Center, Serra Hall 200, art book editor Rebecca Bednarz will give an information conversation on "Careers in Humanities and Fine Arts."  

Rebecca Bednarz, Editor for Exhibition Research and Publishing at the renowned Peabody Essex Museum in Massachusetts -- visits USD for an open meeting with students and faculty to discuss the educational and career paths she took to prepare for her work as an editor in the museum world.

Rebecca holds a BA in Studio Art and Creative Writing from the University of Redlands, an MFA in Poetry from Purdue University and an EdM from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.  At the Peabody Essex Museum, she serves as Editor for Exhibition Research and Publishing.  In this role, Rebecca manages the editorial production of both print and digital publications by the museum as well as exhibition copy for the galleries.  Recent titles for accompanying exhibitions include T.C. Cannon: At the Edge of America, PlayTime, American Impressionist: Childe Hassam and the Isles of Shoals, and Alchemy of the Soul: Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons.  Rebecca's poetry has been published in Threepenny Review and Prairie Schooner, and her chapbook, Camera Obscura, was published by Noemi Press.
