From the Front Lines: The Challenges of Getting to the Truth

Robin Wright, who has reported from 140 countries, will share firsthand insights as a journalist and policy analyst covering wars, revolutions and uprisings with what the Overseas Press Club has called “exceptional courage and initiative.” She will share what she believes it takes to get to the truth and understand the complexities of any conflict. Wright has been recognized for “distinguished reporting and analysis of international affairs” by the American Academy of Diplomacy, and is one of the few journalists who has chosen throughout her career not to be embedded with the U.S. military. As a writer for leading global news sources, a fellow of the Brookings Institution and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and the author of many books on the Middle East, she is a sought-after commentator and authority on the challenges confronting the region and the United States.
