Join Denver USD alumni in giving back by participating in the restoration of Heron Pond, Denver's first designated Natural Area. The Audubon Society of the Rockies is teaming with local Schools, companies, and organizations to help restore a section of Heron Pond, rear the South Platte River. This pond is critical habitat for birds and wildlife. Take advantage of this opportunity to reconnect with new and old USD friends at this volunteer event.

Heron Pond was voted "Best Sunday Afternoon Bike Ride Destination - 2008" by Denver Westword Tucked behind an old water-treatment plant (now Northside Park) and a recycling plant, quiet Heron Pond is the perfect place for solitude and stellar bird watching. Located on the South Platte River Greenway going north from downtown, the park is home to a huge variety of birds, including herons, avocets, kingfishers and red-tail hawks, as well as numerous kinds of water fowl. There may be more scenic rides around town, but when it comes to Sunday solitude, Heron Pond soars above the rest.

Bring your USD friends and family (children welcome) out for a day with USD alumni. Reconnect and meet new friends. See you there!
