RSVP and more information

So, you're interested in starting your own enterprise? Or you have a social innovation idea? How do you decide which for-profit or non-profit model is best? And what about all of those hybrid models that are popping up all over the country? And when is it too soon or too late to determine your business model?

Idea Lab III will cover options and your next steps, as you move from the idea phase into the implementation phase.

This workshop walks through all of the decisions that go into how and when to choose an organizational form and will explore questions such as, “Which for-profit or non-profit should I choose? Or do I choose something in between?” We will explore the new alternative forms that are now legal in California, such as benefit corporations and flexible purpose corporations. Additionally, this Idea Lab will cover basic financing strategies (such as early stage seed financing and alternative sources) and ultimately review the pros and cons of different corporate models. With the opportunity to ask questions, you will develop a better understanding of which option fits best for your idea and enterprise.
