Gail Dines is a pioneer in fighting pornography, having spent more than 20 years researching and writing about the porn industry. She has published numerous articles on topics such as the image of women in Hollywood, racism in porn and the ways that pornographic images shape our sexuality and relationships.

Dines' edited book, Gender, Race and Class in Media, received the Myers Center Award for the Study of Human Rights and her new book, PORNLAND: How Porn Has Hijacked our Sexuality, examines how men and women's lives, sexuality and relationships are shaped by the porn culture. In 2007, Dines established the advocacy group Stop Porn Culture, an international movement to end pornography.
