"Rubens in Print: The Artist and his Graphic Legacy"
A talk by Victoria Sancho Lobis
Curator of the USD Print Collection and Fine Arts Galleries

Professor Lobis will discuss how prints could serve as substitutes for originals by Rubens, one of the most influential artists of 17th century Europe, disseminating his work among much wider audiences than would otherwise be possible. She will address in particular the artist's role in translating his pictorial style from the gestural lagnauge of painting to the linear systems of printmaking.
