Amanda Petersen, PhD is an Associate Professor of Spanish in the Department of Languages, Cultures, and Literatures and affiliated faculty for the Latin American Studies and Women's and Gender Studies programs. A specialist in Mexican literatures and cultures, she researches and teaches in the areas of spectrality, gender, visual culture, and border studies. Her co-edited book, Espectros: Ghostly Hauntings in Contemporary Transhispanic Narratives (2015), explores the spectral in literature, film, and photography of Latin America, Spain, and the Latino diaspora.
