University Terrace Apartments

University Terrace Apartments

Four resident assistants, and other professional staff, reside alongside a mix of 118 second-year, junior and senior students reside at the University Terrace Apartments (UTAs). The UTAs offer a mature living environment for undergraduate students with second-year, junior, or senior status.

Continuous occupancy (including Christmas/winter Break, Intersession, and Spring Break) is provided at no additional expense to residents that stay for the full academic year.

Each of the University Terrace Apartments has two bedrooms and one or two bathrooms for either three or four residents. The apartments are furnished with a sofa and chair, dining table and chairs, desk, chest of drawers, refrigerator and stove, and twin extra-long (80 inches) beds that can be bunked. All UTA units have ceiling fans and all south and west-facing windows are slightly tinted in order to reduce increasing indoor temperatures due to substantial sunlight.

All apartments are west facing with views of Mission Bay and Point Loma from the windows and staircases. Please note the UTA roofs (former sun decks/balconies) are no longer available to access. However, the screen doors will remain intact so units may enjoy the airflow. The closure of the sundecks will not impact the interior of the apartments. The complex also has two laundry rooms, a recreation room, and a communal lounge.

USD Tram service is not provided between the apartment complex and main campus. Please use designated walkways and crosswalks to access the main campus. Please make sure to review the Tram Information and Hours page for additional information.

Apartment Layouts

The UTAs are set up like a grid and are separated by various staircases. To access an apartment in a different row, residents will either have to walk down and around or up and around. The A apartments are at the street level and the E apartments lead to the parking lot at the top of the hill. There are two access points for vehicles on either side of the complex.
