Community Director, Alcalá Vista Apartments
Maria Villanueva (she/her/hers) is the Community Director for the Alcalá Vista Apartments. Maria was born in a small town in Guanajuato, Mexico, and lived in Los Angeles, California for most of her life. Her passion for residential education began in undergrad while serving as an Resident Assistant and continued throughout her professional career. Maria is a USD alumnus and received an M.A. in Higher Education Leadership in 2018, where she served as an Assistant Community Director. Maria spent a couple of years working as a Residence Hall Director at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. She is excited to continue her passion for residential education at USD and getting to return to the west coast. In her spare time, Maria loves to travel, spend time with loved ones, go to the beach, and read. Some of her favorite spots are Mission Bay Beach, Sunset Cliffs, and all of the incredible hiking trails that southern California has to offer.
