Intersession Application

To be eligible to live in a University residence hall during Intersession, you must

  1. be a USD student in good academic standing;
  2. have been enrolled at USD during the Fall 2025 and/or Spring 2026 semester
  3. be making normal progress toward the completion of a USD degree

In order to confirm that you would like to stay/live on campus during the Intersession period, you will need to complete the Intersession housing application.

The Intersession housing application will be available on the housing portal in early November.

Applications will be processed on a rolling basis but must be submitted to USD 5 business days prior to your requested move in day to avoid a $65 late application fee.

Continuous vs. Non-Continuous Housing

Continuous occupancy is available at no additional expense only for those non-freshman residents in the San Antonio de Padua, Manchester Village and Pacific Ridge who fulfill the full 2025-2026 academic year Agreement. This includes housing during the Christmas/Winter break period from December 20th- January 2nd in addition to the Intersession period from January 2nd-24th.

Any Resident who does not fulfill the full 2025-26 academic year agreement shall pay the room fees established for those periods and paid by Residents in other campus housing buildings.

Non-continuous occupancy areas include all First-Year residential halls (Camino, Founders, Maher, Valley A, Valley B), San Buenaventura, and the Alcala Vista apartments. Non-continuous housing policies apply to first-year students living in continuous occupancy housing. Non-continuous housing areas are closed during the Christmas/Winter break period due to the campus being closed.

Room rates are based on occupancy type (single or double/multiple rooms). Please note that these rates do not apply to non-freshman students in continuous occupancy areas.
