On-Campus Housing
Pregnant students can be accommodated in all of our residence halls, as space allows, or are allowed special exception to be released from their housing contract. Please contact a Residential Life staff member (Resident Assistant, Resident Minister or Community Director) if you are in need of any assistance with a current on-campus assignment, or if you would like to discuss housing for the upcoming semester. You may also contact the central residential life office at 619-260-4777.
As space allows, parenting students can be accommodated in our Presidio Terrace Apartments (PTAs), which are single units. Please contact the Residential Life Central Office if you are interested in a PTA apartment.
Off-Campus Housing
There are a number of online resources that may assist you in locating housing for you and your family. When considering living off-campus, it is also important to look into transportation and safety issues for each neighborhood. Links provided below are not connected to the University of San Diego. San Diego is known for it’s diverse neighborhoods. Many USD students choose to either live near campus: (Linda Vista, Mission/Fashion Valley, Point Loma, Mission Hills, Old Town); at the beach: (Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, La Jolla) or Downtown. In trying to identify family-friendly areas, it may be worthwhile to consider neighborhoods that are a little further from the USD campus. There are a number of blogs online that share various opinions about the most family-friendly neighborhoods; you may want to do an internet search for "family-friendly neighborhoods in San Diego. Gathering information on schools can also help identify family-friendly areas, as families tend to migrate towards the strongest schools.
